The EuroIndia Summit at Leuven on 13-14th October 2011 was the culmination of a high level Indian Mission consisting of corporate leaders, senior representatives of the national, federating States and civic governments, scientists and academicians, leaders of autonomous organizations and professionals in the sphere of urban governance.
The Indian Mission visited select European cities, where civic Governments and European companies showcased their best urban practices from 5th to 12th October: Geneva (Switzerland), Grenoble (France), Paris (France), Brussels (Belgium) and Eindhoven (Netherlands) ending with the Summit in Leuven.
On 10th October 2011, Indian delegates attended the inaugural plenary session of Open Days 2011 in Brussels, the largest annual gathering of European regions, cities and companies with over 6000 participants.
On the 12th, they were invited to a special address of the 92th Plenary Session of the Committee of the Regions of the European Union by Honourable Indian Minister for Urban Development, Kamal Nath, and attended the first-ever official meeting of Indian and European city managers hosted by the CoR and co-chaired by its President, Mrs Bresso and Minister Kamal Nath
