November 2008 :
Secretary General met in Paris the following institutions to discuss a possible co-operation: ARF (Association des Régions de France)- AFD (Agence Française de développement) -AMGVF (Association des Maires de Grandes Villes de France) - ADEME (Agence De l'Environnement et de la Maîtrise de l'Energie) - CUF (Cités Unies France)
Meeting with the School for Architecture of Paris, in connection with the project of the Indian Institute for Human Settlements in Mumbai that led to an agreement on membership.
SG visit Forum partner city Halle to attend a German Indian Round Table headed by member Rudolf Weiler and to follow-up on their co-operation agreement with Ahmedabad and their confirmed membership of the Centre.
SG attended the World Council of Cities and Local Government in Istanbul at the invitation of UCLG.
Co-President Colette Mathur took part in the India Economic Summit in Delhi. She also canvassed for corporate support met the Mayoress of Kochi to plead for their membership of the Centre.
December 2008 :
SG visited India for fund raising and for confirming our Indian strategic partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He met the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner of Pune and the Mayor of Kolkata, accompanied by local CII representatives to plead for their membership. Pune accepted membership.
SG visited the Secretaries of the Ministry of Urban Development and Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Member Sanjeev Rao of the G2I consulting firm and the SG gave a presentation at the EurAsia Centre, Paris, on "India and the World crisis".
January 2009 :
Co-President Colette Mathur took part in the Emerging Markets Investors' Roundtable in Zurich, especially in the workshop about Effective Philanthropy.
Board Member Professor Isabelle Milbert was invited to represent the Centre at "Vibrant Gujarat", a global Investors' meet in Ahmedabad. She also discussed membership with the Gujarat Government and reviewed with Ahmedabad their 3 co-operation agreements with Halle, La Rochelle and Valladolid.
SG met CEMR (Council of European Municipalities and Regions), ANRU (Agence Nationale pour la Renovation Urbaine), CPMR (Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe) and MAEE (Ministère des Affaires Etrangères et Européennes) in Paris to discuss a possible co-operation.
Conseil Général of Charente-Maritime received SG for a complete presentation of the Centre in view of their continued financial support.
GS visited Hamburg to participate in a German Indian Round Table headed by member Rudolf Weiler and plead for membership with its authorities.
