On the 11th and 12th of June, the Secretary General took part in a colloquium on late Mr Raymond Barre, the founding co-President of the Centre, along with Dr Manmohan Singh in 2001. French and European personalities spoke about Mr Barre's different facets of his versatile career: The professor and renowned economist, the European Commissioner, the Prime Minister, the candidate for the French Presidency, the Mayor of Lyon and the man of the World.
Noteworthy, was the presence of former French President, Valery Giscard d'Estaing and the absence of his Indian facet that prompted him to accept the co-presidency of the Centre.
